This is a great toy for my dog but the ball was broken within a week. It’s formed in two halves which are fairly sturdy until they are bitten around the seam. If you have a smaller dog maybe no problem.

I really like it but when I literally threw this ball with the wand from a bench that’s approximately 20’ from the wall. After less than 20 throws this ball split open. Now I'm looking for a ball that will fit with the wand.

This launher has quickly become our favorite toy at the dog park. Our little Dixie is a ball full of energy and now that we've figured out how to play fetch this toy is perfect. It helps you endlessly throw the ball for the pup, without having to touch slobbery, gross dog balls (which is especially nice when other dogs join in the fun). The only con I can think of is it gets other dogs excited at the park too! LOL

I have a young Golden Retriever who would retrieve balls and frisbees all day long if my arm could take it. I can throw the ball a lot farther and for more throws, so he gets more exercise. Love that I no longer need to bend over to pick up the ball or have to touch a slimy, sandy, filthy ball! It's quite intuitive to use and within about 3 throws you'll have it down perfectly.

While my dog struggles with the concept of returning the ball to me, she absolutely loves this! We visit a huge dog park frequently, and this lets me throw a ball far enough that she really gets to run full throttle! Running is her favorite. Then, she gets to play her second favorite game of "keep away" with the ball. But she will actually let me have the ball back so I can sling it across the park again because she loves running so much. We now spend more time playing fetch than keep away. I could never throw it far enough on my own to keep her interested more than one or two times before getting the launcher. Now, we can spend an hour at the park playing with it. I have one super tired dog when we go home. Tired dog = happy dog = happy dog mom. I also love that I don't have to pick up the slimy ball with my hands anymore, especially after she drops it in a puddle because the launcher picks it right up. My dog gets so excited when she sees the launcher that she will bounce back and forth in front of me until I throw the ball. I only regret not buying one of these earlier!

I asked questions here and every one said to get one because... and they were right. Bella went nuts! She grabbed the ball immediately in the house and wouldn't give it back. Eventually, she released it and I was able to toss it in the house. She loved that too, but made it clear she wanted outside with it so off we went. Thank you to everyone who responded to my question! One happy little dog over here.

Careful, it's easy to throw the ball further than you'd think with this ball launcher. That said, you can throw the ball far enough for your dog to get his/her exercise. The design of the handle makes it easy to get a good grip and control how far to throw the ball or if you want to throw the ball down to make the ball bounce high. The launcher holds the ball until you're ready to throw it, and releases the ball just as you would want it to. This is my dog's favorite game. I even go around the yard retrieving balls without having to bend down. Lazy...yeah, but easy on my back.

Bought this for our Lab, who is the quintessential retriever. All other toys were forgotten in less than 30 seconds. One toss of this ball and she was hooked! She would play for hours if we let her. The first thing I taught her was to drop the ball in my hands, or no more play. Works like a charm. You can't go wrong with this toy.

This was obviously designed by a dog owner that knew the pain of a bad back from bending over and a sore arm from throwing for a dog that has an insatiable appetite for ball chasing:) I wish there was something that would pick up the ball and help to throw it too...here it is! After a few practice throws, I was heaving balls down the beach 40 or 50 yards with ease.

It's nice not having to touch the ball or bend over to pick it up over and over again. Also, you can throw it very far with minimal effort. Takes a bit of practice to get the hang of it, but once you get a feel for it, it's easy to throw.

I have a Lab mix who loves to play fetch! It was automatically programmed into his DNA and every day he plays fetch. I have used other types of ball launchers and I prefer this one to the others because of the length and sturdiness of the launcher. I can launch a ball farther with this one and that's a good thing since my dog loves to run. I like the feel of it in my hand and the ease in which it releases the ball. I'm glad that I found this toy.

Purchased this as another means to exercise my 2-year-old Aussie Cattle Dog. Never know how she’ll react to a toy though she does like things so she can chase or will chase her as she can sometimes motivate my Portuguese Padengo to do. She loves this ball launcher — happily retrieving them for a half hour or so as I tried things out with her. I'm very satisfied with this.

This is a great device. Even a child can use this to throw the ball with a great distance at a park or field. Our dogs learned about this device in a few throws, and now just the sight of it gets them excited and hopeful that ball play could be next. The device 'ball grip' can easily be used to pick up the ball once it is retrieved... avoiding direct contact with dog slobber and field dirt that gets on the ball. We really love it!

I am impressed with this. Honestly had always thought these were for older, less physically able people or just those who were weak or lazy... Well, then I injured my elbow which made throwing the ball difficult without great pain... So I thought I'd try it... my dog loves that the ball goes much further than before... The ball that comes with it is very firm, stiff, seems better than a regular tennis ball in my opinion. Definitely happy with the purchase.

I wasn't sure how this would work out with the mixed reviews, but I have to say we love it! I bought this for our one-year-old lab. We've only had it for 2 weeks so I can't tell yet how it will last, however, we use this every single day to throw anywhere from 25 - 100 balls. There's no sign of it not being able to take this heavy constant use, hopefully, it'll continue to last. I'm very uncoordinated, so it took a day or two for me to quit throwing it at the ground 20 ft in front of me! Once I got the hang of it, I'm able to launch it 100+ feet. We run our pup in increments of 25 throws; he gets so excited when he realizes it's time to go back out to get the balls.
